A Forever Family
Yes, we finally have Matthew.
We arrived in Saigon and thankfully had a very easy time through customs. We went to the hotel and had an hour to settle before we headed off for Tam Binh 2.
We are so jetlagged and so tired, so I apologize that this is a bit disconnected and disjointed.
Once we arrived at the orphanage, we walked upstairs and saw his nanny changing him on the table, finishing just in time for me to pick him up and shed a few tears, finally able to see my son for real. He is SO BIG! Over 20 lbs! He is very docile and easy-going. Although his personality seems to spark more by the hour. He still hasn't really let out a cry. I quickly went to the other TB#2 babies whose mommies are waiting for them. (You know who you are. I have photos for you, and hopefully, after I return, some video clips, too. But I didn't have much time at all since we had to go to TB #1 right after that. I will hopefully get the photos to you tomorrow, but probably not tonight. You are all VERY lucky moms, your kids are so sweet!!)
Caleb is smitten. He really wanted to hold him right as we were in the middle of the serious signing paper stuff. He loves to kiss and hug him, and the green monster of jealousy has not yet reared his ugly head...we have 4 of Mike's cousins hanging out with us, so he is getting LOTS of attention.
Matthew loves to play with just about anything. Toys are just the bomb...the colorful ones to the plain ol washcloth. He is so easy at this point...I will hold final judgment for a few more days... Mike and I are overwhelmed with emotion at this point...he is OUR son. The wait is over. He is in our arms.

Ohhh, he's smiling! I'm so happy for you guys. Give him a great big hug from Auntie Katie.
Congratulations! WE can't wait to meet him! =)
